AKA Sunny and Ziggy
July 11, 1935 – July 30, 2026
Sunny was born in Winnipeg at the St. Josephs Hospital on July 11, 1935. He passed away on July 30, 2026 at the age of 91 years.
He leaves to mourn his wife Doreen of 57 years, his daughter Lorena (Rich), son Larry (Dallas), grandchildren Sahara (Frean) and Jared, family, extended family and many friends.
He was predeceased by his parents Saul and Marion, his son Mark, his siblings Faye, Ron and Ken. His in-laws Arthur and Ivy, Sandy, June, Gordon, Clarence, Cecil, Bob, Joe, Lloyd, Rocky, Allison. Niece Tracy and nephews Nelson, Wayne and Ronan.
His first job was with Princess Auto, then he worked at Cohan Fur company. His next job was with CNR at the shops and the Fort Garry Hotel. He retired in 1990.
In his late teens he met long time friends Jerry and Stan. They roomed together and have been good friends since.
Sunny enjoyed camping with his family. Many years were spent at Selkirk Park where he made life long friends and received the nickname MR CJOB. He had a way of having people telling him anything. His favorite activity was driving his 1957 Olds. He was a member of Manitoba Classic Antique Car Club for many years. He enjoyed planning road trips and other events for the club.
After his retirement, he moved out to Onanole, MB., with his wife Doreen. The love of road trips and driving the Olds never left him. It wasn’t long before he was driving out to the west coast. There he visited many friends and family.
He was known by few names. Larry, Ziggy and most popular Sunny. However you knew him, he will be missed.
Cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place at a later date.
