Normand Hubert Picard passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 30, 2026 at the age of 88 with his wife, Linda, by his side.
Norm was born near Fortier, Manitoba on the family farm. He was a devoted husband and loving father. Throughout his life he took immense pride in his family, career, and contributions to the community.
He worked most of his life for the Greater Winnipeg Gas company in several capacities of which he took the most pride running and teaching at the training center.
He was very involved in the local community which included being a member of the Lions Club and coaching numerous sports teams over the years. He also enjoyed golfing and curling in his later life.
He is lovingly remembered by his wife Linda, his children Lizanne Waples (Ron), Trevor Picard (Lori), Tara Picard, Kyle Picard, and his grandchildren Brandon, Shaylene, Justin, Arianna, and Adam. He will also be sadly missed by his sister Muriel Hanson, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Emilia, his brothers Albert, Gilbert, Paul, Peter, and Dollard (Bert), and his sisters Estelle, Angela, Doris, Lorraine, and Elmire.
A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., at the Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic church, 19 Elie Street West, in Elie, Manitoba.
A luncheon will follow the service at the Veterans Memorial Hall located at 34 Main Street, Elie Manitoba.

It was nice to get to know Norm for the last few years. He was always so thankful for kindness showed to him. We will miss his smiling face at Queens Court.Prayers are with the family .
Norm was such a great friend and wonderful coach to our kids! So many great memories and so much laughter! My favourite story he told was “Pierre and Marie”. Sincere condolences to Linda and all his family!
