David Rowland Beckinsale

On the morning of October 18, 2022, David left us to re-unite with his beloved Betty who predeceased him in 2020.

David was born March 7, 1937 in Oxford and resided in Witney England.

He immigrated to Canada in 1957 at the age of 20 and resided with his aunt Dorothy in River Heights until he established enough to get out on his own. She was his favorite aunt and they remained close until her passing. He spoke fondly of her often.

Eventually David met the love of his life Betty, who helped in convincing him there was no better place to be than Winnipeg. Together they celebrated 48 years and had enormous fun and adventures big and small. He missed her so!

David retired from Land Titles in 1999.

Predeceased by his parents Rowland and Mabel of Witney, England and his much loved sister Ann whom he dearly missed, also of Witney, England.

He thought the world of you all.

“Chance made us neighbours, hearts made us friends.”
How very privileged we were to get to know Betty and David and to become such good friends with them, from the time they moved to Brantwood Estates until the pandemic made it difficult for us to visit other than by phone.
David was always kind and thoughtful, and such a pleasure to chat with – a true gentleman, whose obvious love for Betty was wonderful to behold. We will miss him, as we do Betty. Our deepest sympathy to Clive and to other members of David’s family.
