Christian John Thomas Scott

September 17, 1988 – October 12, 2022

It is with great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Christian Scott on October 12, 2022 at the age of 34.

He will forever be missed by his wife Courtney, together for 9 years married for 2 years. Father John Hirst, brothers Jeremy Hirst (Dawn) and Cale Scott, grandfather, Stan Scott, nephew John, niece Brooke, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends.

Christian was predeceased by his mom Beverley Scott, grandparents Bernice Scott and Jack & Lillian Hirst.

Christian had worked for Manitoba Hydro in various positions for 15 years. In 2014, he started his PLT apprenticeship program to become a Power Line Technician. On March 16, 2018, he received his PLT Journeyman certificate. He loved what he did and met several of his good friends throughout his career.

Christian was the kindest, most caring man. He would drop everything for anyone if they needed him. He had the biggest heart and loved his friends and family so deeply. He had a passion for riding dirt bikes, motorcycles, snowmobiling, snowboarding, boating and all types of watersports. Christian enjoyed modifying his toys and truck with graphics and custom parts. He loved showing off the work he put into his truck and toys. He took pride in the work he did.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Oak Bluff Community Centre on October 28 with tributes starting at 1:30pm.

Family and friends are encouraged to share memories and condolences on Christian’s memorial page by using the comment field below.

You will be missed brother. I enjoyed all rides we did together on our snowmobiles and dirt bikes. You are the only man I’ve ridden snowmobiles with that I had to stop for a break cause you wore me out trying to keep up busting drifts for 2hours straight. But thoroughly enjoyed sitting back and watching for once. Lol. So till we meet again and rip our toys together and tip a couple back my friend. Rest in peace.

Christian and I worked together at Manitoba Hydro for a short time on a Construction Crew. His sense of humor was almost as twisted as mine and we got along great. We would go on and on about the most useless stuff and he turned into a trusted friend. I always enjoyed catching up with him when our paths would cross after our careers went different ways. I am terribly sad that he is gone, but I’m very glad to have known him!

I went to high school with Christian and am very sad to hear of his passing. I have really happy memories our tiny art class bantering away and Christian driving our teacher crazy in a good way. Even then I knew what a kind heart he had and can imagine his passing leaves a big hole for his loved ones – he will be missed.

I enjoyed conversations at work with Christian and even though we never met in person, I will miss him. He needed a little convincing sometimes but was willing to help. I hope his family can find comfort in his memory and know that he was loved by many.

Christian was a brave, loving and loyal son throuhout and during his mom’s worst days of dying at home. He came to her and responded with loving care, concern & immediate presence and action when needed most.
I feel privileged to have spent some time with Christian (and Courtney) since my sister died. Such a tragic loss !! I am so happy that he spent his life by enjoying so many fun activities with his friends and loving partner, Courtney

I will never forget the many memories we shared together brother. Till we meet again big guy. Love ya and will miss you everyday.

I was saddened when I heard the news of Christian’s passing. I work for Manitoba Hydro Fleet Service and have the pleasure to meet and become friends with Christian as we meet time to time when repairing the equipment, he operated. The first time I meet Christian I knew right away after talking to him for a few minutes he was a standup guy and a caring person. It was always my pleasure when he dropped into the shop for some sort of repair, we would have a good talk about different things and have a laugh. I will miss the the stories and laughter.

Christian was often at our house studying for his lineman exams with my son. He was extremely easy to like. I’m not good with names so when Cayman talked about his friends I’d usually say “which one is he”, but I always know who Christian was. It’s hard to believe that we won’t see his smile or hear his laugh again. You’ll be missed
