Wayne Frank Robert

July 2, 1954 – October 11, 2022

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wayne Frank Robert on October 11, 2022 after a lengthy stay at St. Boniface Hospital.

Wayne is survived by his wife Susan, sons; Kris, Ryan, Derek (Chenise), grandsons; Cohen and Henley, sister; Gail (Bruce), sister-in-law Karen (Hooman), aunt Darlene (Al), mother Doris, brother Ronald (Rosa), uncle Doug (Phyllis), and many nieces and nephews. Wayne was predeceased by his father, Frank.

Wayne was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 2, 1954 where he lived all his life. Wayne truly did follow the beat of his own drum. He had many career paths from wrestling (under the name Freight Train Bobby Baker) to car salesman to educational assistant. Wayne had an eclectic taste and a great sense of humour. He could make anybody laugh with his absurd stories and goofy dad jokes. His favorite thing in life was to stay at home, watch TV and be in the company of his grandsons. He could easily be convinced by them to watch many hours of You Tube or Treehouse TV. Wayne had a big warm presence and will greatly missed by all.

A private family celebration will be held.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Siloam Mission 300 Princess Street, Winnipeg, MB. R3B 1M3.

Family and friends are invited to share memories and condolences on Wayne’s memorial page by using the comment field below.

Wayne was definitely a family man, he wanted everyone there all around him. There were many times that Cohan & Henley would stay for the whole weekend, Friday when Susan got home from work or even earlier till Sunday afternoon, it was like a party when Cohen & Henley were there, treats, tv shows, playing games & fun times together & always lots of pictures taken!! Not sure who was having the best time, the boys or Wayne & Susan?!?! So many special memories for the boys & Susan to carry with them forever.💜

Susan, Sandra & I would go camping and it was shortly after we’d get to the campsite and Wayne would be calling Susan & telling her he misses her already, when are you coming home Susan?? This would go on thru the whole weekend, he wanted Susan home with him, he wanted his girl!🥰 Susan was so frustrated, just wanted a little camping weekend time to herself. Wayne, we will have you at our campsites now starting next summer, as we say you’ll be our “token male.”💜

Wayne always seemed loud & boisterous but really he had a such a soft kind heart! Both him & Susan would do anything for anyone!!
You will be missed Wayne by us & so many people, Sandra & I will be here for Susan! Fly high & so glad that you are free of pain Wayne.
    Love Sharon

Wayne. You played jokes on us all the time. We never knew if it was a joke or serious. You will always be missed by your family and friends. Give Eva Keith and Lucy a big hug for us. Till we meet on the other side. Hugs.
