Robert (Bob) Joseph McColm

August 5, 1947 – December 16, 2025

Robert (Bob) Joseph McColm of Winnipeg Manitoba, peacefully passed away on December 16, 2025 at the age of 78, with family by his side.

Bob will be lovingly remembered by his children Chris (Michelle), Anne (Vince); their mother Mira; and his grandchildren Allie, Ethan, Kayden, Kennedy, Niko and Avianna. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Maude McColm; sister Doreen; and son Gregory.

Bob, shared in raising his children with their mother Mira. Together they created traditions and many family memories during their time living in Oakbank. The most memorable times were those spent around the pool they built in their backyard. It became the gathering place on a hot summer day for birthdays, holidays or any reason to get together with family and friends. Those times will forever be remembered by those who shared them.

For more than 27 years, Bob proudly served as a Winnipeg Police Officer. His career was a source of immense pride, and he carried with him the stories and lessons from his time on the force. Badge number 947 was etched into his memory, and if you mentioned knowing a police officer, his first question was always “What was their badge number?”

Bob was known for his sharp wit and infectious sense of humor. He delighted in making people laugh and had a gift for storytelling. Exceptionally skilled in mathematics, famously stubborn at times, yet always generous. He had a heart of gold and would give his last dime to someone in need, embodying kindness and selflessness throughout his life.

Bob’s memory will continue to live on in the goofiness and laughter he inspired and the love he gave so freely to his family and friends.

In keeping with Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to Diabetes Canada or to a charity of your choice.

Robert Tracy Wells

October 3, 1961 – October 21, 2025

Born in Fort Frances Ontario to Colleen Wells (Mallory) and Wilfred (Bob) Wells, Robert spent his entire life in Winnipeg.

He was a dedicated carrier for the Winnipeg Free Press and an avid consumer of all things techie. After teaching himself how to use a computer Robert moved on to an IPod, IPhone and IPad seldom being without at least one.

Robert loved family and stayed connected to them thru daily calls and texts. Everyone on his list could be assured of knowing they would hear from him regularly. He had many friends but of note is his exceptional long-time friendship with Heather Hooper. They met at a young age and maintained their friendship through almost daily phone calls or FaceTime connections.

After suffering a stroke in September of 2024 Robert subsequently resided at Selkirk Mental Health Centre in the Acquired Brain Injury program where he received excellent support and enjoyed the attention of the staff. Cremation has occurred and Robert will be placed in the family plot in Ontario with his parents.

There will be a memorial service to be announced at a later date

Robert Brown

With a heart full of grief and gratitude for having had the privilege of knowing him, his family is advising of the passing of Robert W. Brown on Friday, June 14th at St. Boniface Hospital. Bob was a retired Corporal of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police and an honorary member of a number of cities in the United States regarding his many years of service on the Drug Section.

Bob was one of the last of the good old boys, a rare breed of a man who, in our watered down world, could seem shockingly blunt upon first meeting him, but you always knew that you got nothing but the honest to God truth as he saw it. He was refreshing and you never questioned where you stood with him – no time was wasted. Loyalty, honor, integrity, kindness and the truth are not always easy but was a solid code by which he lived. He had this way about him. More people should live by this creed.

Bob had a broad spectrum of knowledge and he practically had an answer for almost everything – from his RCMP career, to cooking at the End of Main, to fishing, to making his flies, to trades, to farming and to politics. He always had his opinion and voiced it loudly and often.

He deeply loved the Kootneys and the many friends he made there. As an avid fisherman, Bob would educate anyone who would listen to him about keeping Kootenay Lake safe, healthy and respecting nature. He fought constantly and wrote many letters to the different government agencies to save the lake and to promote tourism.

His words will carry forward in the tourists and their children and all of his family and fiends. He took a great deal of pleasure in the time he spent to educate everyone he came in contact with regarding Kootenay Lake.

Bob could be ‘gruff and humble’ at the same time, but was down to earth and could be very stubborn. He loudly voiced his opinion but his warm heart would shine through when he spoke about his family and friends who meant a lot to him. He was proud and adored all of his four children and deeply loved Brenda. They all took excellent care of him and loved him to bits in his last few years.

He will be dearly missed by all who cared about him. He left a lasting impression on so many and his legacy will live on through them.

Bob is survived by his sisters Joan Schultz (Bruno), Bonnie Purdy (Bob), and all his nieces and nephews that were all very important to him and loved him very much.

REST PEACEFULLY
