Kalena was one of the most positive, kindest people I had the pleasure of knowing. She would light up any room she walked into. I will always remember the French classes we took in university together. She helped me through all of them thanks to her hardworking, no fail attitude.

Don, Melanie, Jerry, but especially Geoff and your precious son,
I was so sad to hear of the loss of your daughter, your fiancee Kalena and Boones mommy. No amount of “sorry for your loss” can ever ease your pain. Although I didn’t know her, I hear she was an smazing young lady. A Young Woman of Distinction, basketball coach and beloved educator. She shaped the lives of her students both past snd present. Her memory will live on in all those she touched but especially in her precious son. May you find comfort in your memories and in each other at this difficult time.

Kalena was such a sweet soul who always went above and beyond for her students. As a mom with a strong willed child who has intellectual delays she was always included in the classroom activities. Jahlyrika even got the privilege to tell her classmates about Kalenas pregnancy announcement. Kalena was more than just a teacher and was so supportive of my daughter and her daily achievements. Her smile and laugh will be greatly missed and I know as a community we are all feeling all different types of grief. She left us too soon and will not be forgotten. My condolences to the entire family on both sides from my family to yours.

I met Kalena years ago when we were teenagers. Her name was so beautiful and stuck with me; I named my daughter Kaleena.
I always remember her being so full of energy and engaging with everybody around her. I am so sorry for your loss.

  31. Darlene

There are no words to say how sorry I am for the loss of Kalena She had such a beautiful heart. So kind , always took time to speak to you. My heart is going out to the the Green, Davidson Families and little Boone 🦋❤️

  32. Lee

I didn’t know Kalena well but it wasn’t necessary to know her well to feel the warmth and beauty of her spirit. The world has many wonderful people but she was so much more than that, it’s so very difficult to find the right words to describe how uniquely remarkable she was. Shocked, shattered doesn’t come close to explaining how I felt when I heard the news of her passing. The world was a much lovelier, kinder and way more fun place with her in it. Although this must be incomprehensible to her family and friends, I hope it comforts them to know that literally everyone that was ever fortunate enough to live even for a moment in the special glow that was Kalena, is the better for it! She will never ever be forgotten. 💔

  33. Annie Ramsey

Kalena was indeed an earth angel. She touched everyone’s soul with her smile, her kindness, and her eagerness to somehow remove a barrier or lift a load. I watched her in awe, teaching swimming lessons to young children (my son included). She was always engaged, always playful and always encouraging. She showed up and demonstrated her heart of gold everyday. A few years later, I enrolled in an adult aquacize program, where she displayed the very same. She was high energy, she could tell when students were struggling, she pulled everyone through with her beautiful smile & kind words of encouragement. The hearts she has touched in such a short time is incredible! What a sweet soul! She will be missed in our community. My heart goes out to the family and friends that are grieving her loss. Healing will take time.
    May God bless you all,
Annie, Brian, Dez, Hannah & Jack Ramsey

Kalena was by far one of my favourite students when I taught her in grade 8. She was the girl who checked on her teacher after a hard class when the boys were giving me a hard time about having to learn French. She truly cared about me as a person and that’s what I’ll always remember about her! When I saw her again as a new teacher I knew she was in the right profession. Kalena touched so many lives. I’m so sorry that she was hurting so badly. My heart is breaking for her and all of her family and friends. Hold her baby and fiancé close dear Carberry community.
