Alison Patricia Turchinski (nee Hunter)

July 9th, 1936 – March 6th, 2022

Surrounded by loved ones, it is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing at home of our beloved Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother on March 6th, 2022 at the age of 85.

Alison (Pat) was born in Winnipeg July 9th, 1936 to Alyson and Robert Hunter. She grew up in the Norwood Flats area, and went on to work for many years at the Childrens Aid Society.

In 1956, through family friends, she met Louie who she would later marry in 1961 and become the love of her life for the next 59 years until his passing in 2020.

During their lives together they both enjoyed many years at the cottage they built in Lac du Bonnet, canning fruits and vegetables along with gardening and tending to the rose gardens at home.

Retiring from the Childrens Aid Society in the early 1970’s, she went on to raise her family, and spend a lot of her time doing what she loved, baking.

In her later years she enjoyed reading fantasy novels, doing crossword puzzles, watching The Young and Restless, and drinking her diet A&W rootbeer.

Left to mourn, her sons, Todd (Bobbie) Turchinski of Winnipeg Beach, Glenn (Anna) Turchinski of Lac du Bonnet, and step son Edward Turchinski of Victoria BC.

Her Grandchildren, Cody (Phylicia) Turchinski of Winnipeg, Christopher (Hilary) Turchinski of Winnipeg, Katie (Tavis) McGregor of Winnipeg, Alina (Andi) Bauer of Germany, and Maggie Turchinski of Washington DC.

Her Great Grandchildren, Emily, Annabelle, Logan, Jackson, Brody, Lucia and Sophia.

She is predeceased by her loving husband Louie, her mother Alyson, her father Robert, and her two sisters, Lorraine and Susan.

We, the family, would like to thank Dr. Harris along with all the other Doctors and nurses at Gimli Hospital for all the great care she was given in the later part of her life. We would also like to thank the group of homecare ladies: Sandra, Lisa, Kim, Janna, Gloria and Lucille who made her final months special.

As per her request, Cremation has taken place with a Celebration of life to follow at a later date.

“Sweet Dreams and Sleep with the Angels”.
