Matt worked for the Manitoba Lotteries and Liquor Commission for most of his adult life. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved quadding all year long, snowmobiling in the winter, boating, fishing and camping in the summer. He finally retired out in Winnipeg Beach and couldn’t have been happier. Dad was happiest when he was with family and friends, the more the merrier.
There will be a Celebration of Life at his home, 503 Silverdale Ave, Winnipeg Beach MB, on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 2pm.
We would like to extend our thanks to the wonderful palliative care doctors and nurses at Selkirk Hospital that took such good care of Matt.
Any donations can be made to Cancer Care Manitoba.

You are truly a wonderful friend and Matt liked you both very much
This is very difficult, I met Matt in 1984 when I started at Mb Lotteries. Matt quickly became a close friend and so did our families Matt, Marylyn, Venetta, Chrissy, Laura & Kim, myself, Jason & Jeremy. Oh what times we had at Allenby Cresc as well as snowmobiling, boating and camping! Matt was a mentor re all things involving bingo, snowmobiling, boating, fixing vehicles (absolutely anywhere in any weather) and in the art of mixing a very favourite beverage in a Diet Coke can! You helped us all in so many, many ways over the years. We will never forget you and we will miss you incredibly. Venetta, Chrissy, Laura our thoughts and love to each of you & your families, he was one of a kind.
