Robert Tracy Wells

October 3, 1961 – October 21, 2025

Born in Fort Frances Ontario to Colleen Wells (Mallory) and Wilfred (Bob) Wells, Robert spent his entire life in Winnipeg.

He was a dedicated carrier for the Winnipeg Free Press and an avid consumer of all things techie. After teaching himself how to use a computer Robert moved on to an IPod, IPhone and IPad seldom being without at least one.

Robert loved family and stayed connected to them thru daily calls and texts. Everyone on his list could be assured of knowing they would hear from him regularly. He had many friends but of note is his exceptional long-time friendship with Heather Hooper. They met at a young age and maintained their friendship through almost daily phone calls or FaceTime connections.

After suffering a stroke in September of 2024 Robert subsequently resided at Selkirk Mental Health Centre in the Acquired Brain Injury program where he received excellent support and enjoyed the attention of the staff. Cremation has occurred and Robert will be placed in the family plot in Ontario with his parents.

There will be a memorial service to be announced at a later date

Family and friends are invited to share memories and condolences on Robert’s memorial page using the comment field below.

Truly, Robert kept contact on a regular basis, often inquiring about my mom Alice. He was always excited to share about his new electronics and music acquisitions. His parents did a wonderful job in raisng their boy!
Robert….your memory will always be a happy one for me.

I do miss you sweet pea. I miss your early morning and late night messages, and the calls and messages throughout the day. I miss going to visit you With Pauline at the center in Selkirk. I miss your smile and your laugh. I miss your inquiring about my Carol every time you call. I miss you my pet. I miss the rare gem I got to know and love.

Thank you Rosie! It was so lovely of you to keep in touch with Robert (Tracy). He was a special person and one of the “lucky ones” to have been born with parents who made sure he was well cared for his entire life. Sending hugs to you and your family. Kimm
