April 23, 1934 – April 1, 2025

Marie was born to Leon and Lydia Libbrecht on Monday, April 23, 1934 in Cranberry Portage, Manitoba.

Marie passed away peacefully at the Extended Care Oakview Place in Winnipeg, Manitoba on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at the age of 90 years.

Marie married Joe Kriniski on May 23, 1953 in The Pas, Manitoba. Together they had four children; Doris, Randy, Lee and Jamie.

Marie worked for a time as a nurse’s aide at St. Anthony’s Hospital now The Pas Health Complex. After that she went into doing home care.

In 1971, she met John Ross and they had one child, a son, Leon. It was in that time she joined the Legion Branch and Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed doing bingos, working in the kitchen, playing cribbage, travelling and also enjoyed talking and joking with people.

Marie was predeceased by her parents Leon and Lydia Libbrecht; brothers Edward, Eloi, Hubert, Ray, Guy; and her sister Claire.

She leaves to mourn her passing, her 5 children and their spouses, 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; also numerous nieces and nephews and sister-in-law Merle.

In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations to The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3L 0K6, or to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 10-120 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3C 9Z9, would be appreciated by Marie’s family.
