July 5, 1941 – March 29, 2025
Our hearts are broken as we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and grandfather Brian Bill Fenning at the age of 83 at the Misericordia hospital on March 29th, 2025.
Mourning this overwhelming loss are his beloved wife of 60 years Lorraine, children Darren (Lisa), Karen (Dean), Jason (Georgina), and his 4 beloved grandchildren who were the love of his life Konnor, Sydney, Chace, and Paige. Also left to mourn his loss is his sister Evelyn Kiesman of Ashern, Manitoba. Predeceased by parents Lena and Eric Fenning; Six brothers and six sisters and in-laws Jack and Helen House.
Brian lived life to the fullest, and his life revolved around the happiness of his family. We were blessed to have an amazing father, husband, and grandpa, who had the biggest heart and best sense of humor.
Dad (AKA Grandpa) enjoyed fishing, hunting, and everyone enjoyed listening to his stories about his life growing up in Hilbre, Manitoba.
Pops enjoyed watching all sports, and looked forward to watching his grandchildren during all their activities and sports. He also enjoyed having drinks with his family at home on the balcony. We always looked forward to enjoying listening to his recollection of stories and memories.
The grandkids always looked forward to visits with Grandpa, who had a special way of making them feel loved with his thoughtful gestures, often including a little spending money.
We look forward to finding random toothpicks to remind us you are near, and we will continue feeding the blue jays as they visit the balcony.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and condolences on Brian’s memorial page using the comment field below.

Uncle Brian was a joy to be around. I can hear his laugh. Brian and Lorraine were so good to me when I used to come visit. I remember the bed moving across the room when the train went by. I hope he is up there having a beer with my Mom and all his other brothers and sisters and I hope they are behaving. Probably not. Lol.
Dear Lorraine and your family. You are in my thoughts and prayers during this very difficult time. It takes a long time to get used to not having Brian physically around but you will still have all the wonderful memories.
I am remembering all the wonderful times we had when I lived across the street on Lock Street in Winnipeg and our weekends in Ashern & Hilbre areas.
Love & hugs to all of you.
Our thoughts are with you Lorraine and family. I can remember staying at your house for a couple of days back in my very early 20’s. Brian and Harvey took me out to a local bar back when driving home after a few beers was acceptable. He will surely be missed by the Fenning clan.

My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family! I have so many memories of Uncle Brian , the saying it doesn’t matter what you say but how you made people feel! My Uncle Brian ALWAYS made you feel LOVED and accepted! Always a kind word, always protective of those he loved! I adored watching him and auntie Loraine , there was such a deep love connection, his little wink spoke a thousand love songs! Hearing how he gave his grandkids a little money! Is a Fenning tradition, Granny always gave us money ! My mom gave her grandkids! Something I do with mine! There is one thing about the Fenning family, we may not see alot of eachother but when we get together it’s like time stood still! As it’s the LOVE of family that is our heritage! We are blessed to have a wonderful Uncle Brian ! Lov ya! Till we meet again on that golden shore!
I’m sorry for your loss. Uncle Brian always made me feel welcome at the Fennings. He loved to make fun of me too, lol. Although I have not seen him in years, I have fond memories of playing Hearts on Lock Street and spending time together at the cabin in Hilbre. I’m sure Brian and Harvey are having a laugh somewhere now and having a good argument about something silly, followed by a beer and more laughs.
So many memories from the old houses on Langside, Gallagher and Lock where Uncle lived with us and where Mom and I would come to stay for days while on appointments and shopping, to those barn dances at the grandparent’s farm in Birch Bay. Uncle Brian you were always a smiling face, a heart of gold, one of the dearest uncles, this world could hold. On earth you toiled, in heaven you rest, God bless you Uncle, you were one of the best! Thanks for the memories! xoxoxo
We would like to give condolances to the Fenning family at this time of loss.May our heartfelt thoughts of sympathy help comfort the family. We hold fond memories of life growing up in Birch Bay,the many years our families went to school, worked the farm a great place to grow up.
