It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Kevin Glen Farncombe, who left us on August 3, 2024, in Winnipeg at the age of 66. Born in Portage La Prairie, Kevin spent his life appreciating the pleasures of family and friends.

Kevin was raised in High Bluff working alongside his family at Farncombe’s General Store. At the age of 18, Kevin ventured out west to Alberta where he built a meaningful career in the oil and gas industry for 45 years.

Kevin is survived by his loving wife, Brenda; his son, Brandon (Lindsay); his daughter, Haley; his dog, Nova; his brother, Grant (Heather); his sister-in-law, Joan; and his uncle and aunt, Gerald and Georgina, along with many more nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Kevin was predeceased by his parents, Gordon and Jean, and his brother, Craig.

Kevin had a passion for golfing, spending time with his friends, traveling, and enjoying the company of Nova. He also cherished his time at the cabin, where he found comfort and peace. Kevin’s enthusiasm for these activities was infectious, bringing joy and excitement to those around him.

Kevin’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him. His warmth, enthusiasm, and zest for life will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.

Kevin William Palmer

April 25th 1967 – Feb 14th, 2023

With deep sadness, we announce the sudden passing of Kevin.

Live Hard! Play Hard! Love hard!

To know Kevin “Icabod” was to love him.  Growing up, as a country boy in Petersfield his love of hunting, trapping, fishing and being with family meant everything to him.  He loved physical work and being outdoors that included many long hours helping his parents and grandparents on the farm. He could learn to do just about anything he set his mind to.  All who knew him recognized he worked hard and played harder. Throughout his life, his mom was always there to support him unconditionally.

Kevin loved the outdoors, fast cars and living life to the fullest. Always smiling and making us laugh, his outgoing personality made it so easy to be around him as he shared all his crazy stories with us.  One thing we know for sure, each one of us will remember that infectious laugh that made us laugh right alongside him. His generous spirit made sure his family, friends and others around him were taken care of before himself.  We will miss you dear son, father, partner, brother, uncle and friend.

Mourning Kevin’s sudden passing is his long-time partner Giselle and their kids, James, Trinity, Cyrus, Darian and Annie. Parents, Joan (Joe), Ron, Siblings; Dennis (Marilyn), Rhonda (Darcy), Colleen (Mike) and his many nieces and nephews.

Look out Dear Lord, here comes Kevin!

In keeping with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can go to the Manitoba Addictions Foundation.
