Judith Lamb

May 29, 1956 – September 26, 2025

We are saddened to announce the passing of Judith Lamb at the age of 69 years after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She is survived by her son, Edward Lamb-Porayko (Kayla) and her daughter, Victoria Porayko. Judy was predeceased by her parents, Jessie and Gordon Lamb of England.

Judy was born in Carlisle, England. It was in England that she trained as a teacher. She taught in England for 19 years before moving to Canada on a teacher exchange. She taught in Winnipeg 1 School Division from 2008 until her retirement in 2022.

Judy was very active in her retirement before her disease made it impossible to continue her activites. She was an accomplished violinist and performed at Folklarama for a few years. She also taught violin at the LA School of Music for many years. Her musical talents also included piano and singing. She loved to sing with her choir, Octavia. Judy was also a long standing PEO member.

Judy was a women of many interests. She was a talented painter, seamstress and knitter. She was also physically active with playing pickelball, cycling and long walks. If you couldn’t find her doing that, she was off hiking, boating, camping and exploring nature.

Judy touched the lives of many people: her students and collegues over her years of teaching, her many friends through church and community, choir, and her children. She will be greatly missed.

Thank you for the lessons you brought to this world.

Her service will be held at Selkirk Community Church on October 15, 2025 at 1:30pm.

If desired, donations can be made, in Judy’s name, to Cancer Care Manitoba.

Judith Lawren (Oliver) Tindall

May 26, 1948 – June 20, 2025

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother and Grandma Nanny, Judith Lawren (Oliver) Tindall, on June 20, 2025 at the age of 77.

Born in Brandon, Manitoba, on May 26, 1948, to Alvin and Margaret Oliver. Judy grew up in Fairview District with her younger brother Warren Oliver, just north of Carberry, Manitoba. It was there she built lifelong friendships and a deep love for her community that shaped her strong spirit and kind heart.  On October 21, 1967, she married her high school sweetheart, Glenn Tindall, and together they began their life in Brandon before settling back in Carberry, where they built their family home and raised their two children Klay Tindall born August 7, 1973 and Vanessa (Tindall) Thompson born January 4, 1978.

Judy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose love for her family knew no bounds. She supported her children’s every game, performance, and school event with pride and enthusiasm. Whether she was cheering from the sidelines, helping behind the scenes, Judy gave her time and energy with happiness.

She found special joy in her role as a grandmother- Grandma Judy & Nanny were the special names given to her by her greatest blessings. Her grandchildren—Eli Tindall (2000), Gage Tindall (2001), Autumn Thompson (2002), Jaida Thompson (2005), Daisy Tindall (2005), and Darner Tindall (2008)—were the light of her life. From sleepovers and water park adventures to cheering at their games, she cherished every moment she spent with them. The memories she created with her grandchildren will be treasured forever.

Judy had many passions that filled her days with meaning and purpose. She was an avid gardener, a lover of puzzles and crosswords, and enjoyed painting, watching curling and football, and singing in the church choir. She gave countless hours volunteering with Pool Sharks and Exit Stage Left, where her enthusiasm and warmth touched many lives. She also enjoyed traveling and exploring new places.

Judy will be remembered for her kindness, quiet strength, the way she made everyone feel, whether through a warm conversation, thoughtful unwavering support, or a big hug will remain with them always. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family and friends.

A celebration of Judy’s life will be held on Monday, June 30 2025 at 2pm at the Carberry United Church. A reception to follow at Clyde McCallum’s Home at 86043 Road 57N Carberry.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Judy’s memory.

She will be forever missed by her sister Lora (Bill), brother Brian (Darcey), as well as nieces and nephews, Jason (Laurie), (Eternity, August, Cadi), Christopher, Ashley (Brendan) (Lincoln and Aubrey), Amanda (Reg), (Max, Miranda, Kelsey, Emma), Chantal (Jayson), Amber (Marc), Amy (Michael), Robyn, Dale (Mel) and family. She will also be lovingly remembered by aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Judy was a social butterfly thanks to Facebook and Bell MTS. If she was your friend on Facebook, she commented on every post you shared. If she had your phone number, she could talk forever. She always truly cared how you were feeling and what you were up to. Phone calls always ended with “stay safe, stay healthy, take care and I love you. Talk soon.”

The last two weeks have been a roller coaster of emotions and to you my dear sister,
We will miss you beyond words,
But your journey has begun so
To you we say “you are safe,
You are now healthy and I love you
See you soon”

A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Woodlands Community Hall, Woodlands, Manitoba.

Flowers gratefully declined but for those who wish to donate, please do so to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
