James Barry Lane

December 18, 1934 – August 7, 2026

A life well lived is a precious gift, of hope and strength and grace, from someone who has made our world a brighter, better place.

It’s filled with moments, sweet and sad with smiles and sometimes tears, with friendships formed and good times shared, and laughter through the years.

A life well lived is a legacy, of joy and pride and pleasure, a living, lasting memory, our grateful hearts will treasure.

Jim is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Nadia, and his children Susan, Patsy (Jim), Barry (Lisa), and Peter (Cheryl) as well as his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jim was born and spent most of his life in sunny St. James, Winnipeg, Manitoba. His retirement years were enjoyed on “The Farm” in Balmoral, Manitoba.

He had many passions which included guitar (No. 1 Hank Snow fan), woodworking, and cracking good/bad jokes and puns. He loved the farm chores and adventures … there were many.

Jim adored his wife, Nadia. His every action was rooted in deep devotion for his loved ones. He was a quiet, kindhearted man. He didn’t say much but was a great listener.

In the words of Jim … husband, father, grandfather and friend, “It’s never goodbye, it’s so long.”

I love you, Man

Jim will be laid to rest beside his twin brother in the Veterans Memorial Gardens at Brookside Cemetery at a private internment.

September 14, 1959 – January 17, 2026

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of James William Terris(JR). James passed away peacefully on Saturday January 17, 2026 in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 66.

James was predeceased by his parents Beverly and Jim Terris. He leaves behind siblings, Debbie (Paul), Valerie (Grant), Daryl (Kit) and many nieces and nephews. James loved his family and friends and took great joy in spending time with them. James was always teasing and joking.

James was born on a military base in France September 14, 1959. He had moved away as an infant, and had enjoyed living in different parts of Canada, including both coasts. He enjoyed travelling, including his many day trips. His goal of someday returning to France, was fulfilled in 2024, with personal assistance from Peter.

James was an avid fan of hockey, football, baseball and wrestling. He was an active member of 5 pin bowling and dart leagues, winning many trophies of his own. He was a proud member of the Royal Canadian legion for over 40 years.

James had over 17 years of employment with Canad Inns, working in the kitchen.
We thank the staff of Continuity Care and Turning Leaf, with helping James transition to living in his own apartment, and to St Amant for assisting when his health declined.

A heartfelt thank you to Peter Karari, and his family, who provided care and support to James, with love and compassion.

Cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service.

James (Jim) Allan Bridgman

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of James (Jim) Bridgman on

December 24th, 2024 at the age of 79 at St. Boniface Hospital with his family by his side.

Jim leaves to mourn and cherish his memory, his wife Dale, children Bill (Tammy), Nona, Charmaine (James) and Jamie (Jim) and grandchildren and great grandchildren. Jim’s sisters, Helen, Charlene, and Joy (Kirby). Along with extended family, in-laws Diane (Wally), Sandy, Dave (Linda), Ken (Gail), Cheryl, Nancy (Manuel), Raymond (Ivy), Casey (Roberta), Sheila (John), Gary (Tracy), Ismael and cousins Patrick, Chris and Lenny.

Jim met Dale in 1973 and married July 6, 1982. Jim was a metal worker and worked for “Metal Pac For” for 35 years. When Jim and Dale moved to Teulon, he built a shop so that he could continue his metal work in his spare time. Jim also enjoyed gardening, fishing, bonfires and going to Rubber Ducky Resort every summer. He also got to experience an NFL game in Minneapolis and see his favourite team, the Minnesota Viking’s win.

Jim and Dale went on a trip to Hawaii and then to Australia to see his cousins. He enjoyed many trips, going to the states to the Shooting Star with Dale, her sisters and their husbands. After living in Teulon for 20 years, they moved to Selkirk. For the past 3 years living in Selkirk, they enjoyed playing bingo and cribbage at the Legion and also fishing off of the Selkirk dock with family.

In accordance with Jim’s wishes cremation has taken place and a family internment will occur at a later date.

Peacefully on February 4, 2022, Jim passed away at the age of 76 years.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
