Larry James Cornborough

June 30, 1945 – December 21, 2023

With his family by his side, Larry passed away peacefully at the Grace Hospital.

He is survived by his children Tim (Colleen), Sean (Sherri), Jeff (Michelle), Tara (Ted), as well as his  grandchildren Jordan, Alicia, Mathieu, Noah, Morgan, Kate and Connor, and close friends Kevin and Stan.

Dad was predeceased by his father Timothy, mother Peggy and his four siblings.

Larry grew up in Winnipeg, attending Churchill High School. After high school, dad was employed with Purolator Courier, The Winnipeg Sun and Dart Messenger.

Dad had a passion for all sports, especially fastball in the summer months, where he played, coached and umpired. In the winter months, he was a competitive and exceptional 5 pin bowler. He also coached hockey, mostly from the bleachers, where you could always here him yelling, “Stay on your wing! Keep your stick on the ice!”

Dad also loved to play backgammon and cribbage, which he played with his children until his last day.

Dad was an avid sports fan, especially the Blue Bombers, Winnipeg Jets, Minnesota Vikings and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

We wish to express our gratitude to the staff at Grace Hospital – 4 South, for their care and compassion for dad and our family.

As per his wishes, cremation has taken place. A small family celebration of Larry’s life will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Cancer Care Manitoba.
