August 5, 1947 – December 16, 2025
Robert (Bob) Joseph McColm of Winnipeg Manitoba, peacefully passed away on December 16, 2025 at the age of 78, with family by his side.
Bob will be lovingly remembered by his children Chris (Michelle), Anne (Vince); their mother Mira; and his grandchildren Allie, Ethan, Kayden, Kennedy, Niko and Avianna. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Maude McColm; sister Doreen; and son Gregory.
Bob, shared in raising his children with their mother Mira. Together they created traditions and many family memories during their time living in Oakbank. The most memorable times were those spent around the pool they built in their backyard. It became the gathering place on a hot summer day for birthdays, holidays or any reason to get together with family and friends. Those times will forever be remembered by those who shared them.
For more than 27 years, Bob proudly served as a Winnipeg Police Officer. His career was a source of immense pride, and he carried with him the stories and lessons from his time on the force. Badge number 947 was etched into his memory, and if you mentioned knowing a police officer, his first question was always “What was their badge number?”
Bob was known for his sharp wit and infectious sense of humor. He delighted in making people laugh and had a gift for storytelling. Exceptionally skilled in mathematics, famously stubborn at times, yet always generous. He had a heart of gold and would give his last dime to someone in need, embodying kindness and selflessness throughout his life.
Bob’s memory will continue to live on in the goofiness and laughter he inspired and the love he gave so freely to his family and friends.
In keeping with Bob’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob’s memory to Diabetes Canada or to a charity of your choice.
Family and friends are invited to share memories and condolences on Bob’s memorial page using the comment field below.

May you rest in peace Bob. My condolences to the family.
I’m so sorry for your loss. Please know that my thoughts are with you and your family during this difficult time. Your father’s love and legacy will always live on through those who knew and loved him. Wishing you comfort, strength, and peace as you grieve.
My uncle Bob was a really cool uncle. I always liked when we went to your family’s place. I remember when I was young and misbehaving and Uncle Bob helped calm me down by placing me on his lap and letting me load his police revolver with bullets. It was always fun at your place. I’ll miss you Uncle Bob.
May you hold tight to the lifetime of memories you have of him. I’m thinking of you all and am wishing you peace as you learn to navigate your worlds without him. He was a wonderful man.
I have known Uncle Bob since I was 2 years old and every time I was with him he made me laugh. He was the best Uncle to have and a part of my life now gone forever. You will always be in my heart.
Our sincere condolences in the passing of your patriarch- may he rest in peace.
Our thoughts are with you and your family. Your dad was one of a kind and his humour I will always remember. May he rest in peace. Treasure all the memories
I had the pleasure of working with Bob in our Police days, 1st in recruit class & a few years later as cruiser car partners in District 5. Bob was a kind and generous man, a person to admire with a wonderful sense of humour. He was a good COP and a better person, R.I.P. Bob. My condolences to his family.
Condolences to the family. Always remember Bob as having a great sense of humour. I worked with Bob back in District 4 days and always looked forward to working with Bob. Learned a lot from him and what an outlook he had. Rest in peace Bob.
