Janice was born in Russell, on September 17, 1957 to Louis and Elsie Falkevitch. She attended Londonderry School for elementary and completed her schooling at Major Pratt School in Russell. Mom passed away in 1979 and Janice moved to Winnipeg to live and work.

Janice worked at various jobs throughout her years in Winnipeg, some of her favourite were Manitoba Hydro and St. Boniface Hospital. Janice was a friendly, outgoing, cheerful person and made many friends throughout her years in Winnipeg but she always longed to move back home to Russell.

Janice’s wish came true in 2014 when she was finally able to call Russell home again and she joined the Parkland Linc family. The years she spent with her friends at Linc were among the best times of her life. She loved bowling, bingo, grocery shopping, going for coffee and visiting with everyone in the community. Janice loved her family and friends and she was so excited to run into them in town or at an event. Janice was a fun loving, easy going person who will be forever remembered.

She was predeceased by her parents Louis and Elsie (Zimmer) Falkevitch and her brothers; Randy Falkevitch and Ron Falkevitch and niece Elysha Chernesky.

She leaves to mourn her sister Joan (John) Chernesky, brother Bruce (Carla) Falkevitch, children Brandy Falkevitch, Kolton Falkevitch, and Tessa Sanheim (Taylor) and children Acre and Tate, nephew Christopher Falkevitch, sons Jude and Brier, niece Christina Olson (Dylan), children Briella and Remi, niece Naokah Roth  (Leonard), children Tatum and Tyson, also her beloved Aunty Annie and many close cousins.

The family would like to express a huge thank you to all the dedicated workers who have provided Janice with kind and gentle care over the years. A sincere thank you to Dr. Pietres and the staff at the Russell Personal Care Home for the comfort care she received during her stay. Janice always looked happy and content with nail polish or a bow in her hair when we went to visit her. Finally, an extra special thanks to Parkland Linc staff and friends at Linc for being such an important part of her life.
