Brenda Marion Fontaine

October 23, 1946 – December 2, 2022

It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Brenda Marion Fontaine (nee Kupchuk).

Brenda was predeceased by her husband Eugene.  She is survived by her son David, her daughter Kim Lewicki (Mike); grandsons Peyton and Adam, siblings Jan McKinnon (Jody, Sheri and Derrick), Don Kupchuk (Iris); nieces Dana (Fausto,  grand-nephews Isaiah, Judah) Tami.

Brenda was born in Transcona and lived there all her life.  She went to central school in her earlier years and high school at TCI.  Brenda worked for both provincial and federal agencies.  During this time, Brenda enjoyed volunteering and helping organize the Transcona Hi Neighbour Festival and also various events at the Maple Leaf Community Club.

In retirement Brenda lived a quiet life at home, travelling occasionally across the border for Country music entertainment.  After the passing of her husband, sister Jan moved in to help Brenda with daily life and activities, especially when health issues became a concern.  Jan was dedicated to her sister to the very end.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all the staff of Unit N1 North at Concordia Hospital for their love and care, especially in her last days and hours!

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Brenda to the Winnipeg Humane Society.

Family and Friends are invited to share memories and condolences on Brenda’s memorial page by using the comment field below.

Please note: there is a delay between when a comment is posted and when it appears on the memorial page.
