Brian Hass

We are devastated to announce the unexpected loss of Brian Hass on June 6, 2021 at the age of 59. His life was cut short by a sudden cardiac event.

Mourning his loss are wife Jo-Anne, mom Cecilia, siblings Fred (Judi), Carol (Peter), Terry (Orville), sister-in-law Sabina (Nathan), nephews and nieces Nick, Ian (Melanie), Lexie, Neil, Anthony, Stephanie and great-nephew Everett. He will also be lovingly remembered by close family out east and in Germany. He was predeceased by his dad Sandy.

Brian was Jo-Anne’s rock and soulmate. Whether taking the wheel on epic distance road trips, coaxing her gently up precarious mountain trails or creating a beautiful home he was her protector and perfect companion. She is heartbroken to have him taken away so soon.

Brian was the epitome of patience and calm kindness. He took pleasure in supporting his mom and parents-in-law and troubleshooting problems. He fearlessly conquered numerous marathons and even longer trail races, extensive house and yard renovations, complicated financial spreadsheets and culinary projects. He loved visits with nieces and nephews and observing their special talents. He deeply appreciated nature as an avid hiker of mountain trails in the Rockies and Alps, the Sonoran Desert and in the woodlands of Manitoba.

As per Brian’s wishes, tissue donation and cremation has taken place and private tributes will be held in the future.

Memorial donations if desired could be made to Manitoba Association of Trail Runners (www.matr.ca).

Condolences may be left on Brian’s memorial page at www.interlakecremation.ca

I am really so sorry to come across and see Brian’s passing. I remember him (so quiet and sweet) and your whole family fondly in my memories our families enjoyed together 53 or so years ago. I hope you are all doing well. Been thinking about you.
