Annette Fouillen (Labossiere)

We sadly said goodbye to Mom—Minn—Aunty Annette and cherished friend on Friday January 8, 2021, at 82 years old.

Annette was born in Somerset, MB on July 6, 1938 to Alexis and Marie Anne Labossiere and was the third eldest of eight, and we grew up hearing many fond stories of her love and laughter growing up in the Labossiere household.

She was predeceased by dad, Louis Fouillen (Jan 2, 1988), her parents, as well as her siblings, Paul, Arthur, Jean and Raymond, her brother -in-laws and sister in law and several family members and close friends over these past years.

Annette is survived by her children Suzanne, Gilles (special friend Liz), her sisters, Edith, Lucille, Mickey (Clemence), sister-in-law’s, Dianne, Rachel, Therese, brother-in-law Marcel and many nieces and nephews.

Mom worked tirelessly for many years along side Dad until he passed and thereafter in their restaurant, Claire’s Café in Ste Rose du lac, MB.  We have many fond memories as well I’m certain family and friends do of “afterhour” gatherings celebrating Christmas or fun times sharing a beverage while turning up the Jukebox and for the nieces and nephews playing Pinball and Arcade games.

When she retired in Somerset, MB, mom enjoyed her pets, reconnecting with her siblings, the peacefulness of spending time outside in her yard, planting flowers, watering, cutting the grass and raking leaves in the fall. Moms love for curling was her winter past time, she faithfully watched every curling tournament for endless hours and thoroughly enjoyed her chats with her sister Edith after each curling match.

Mom was strongly independent with the sweetest little smile, kindest caring warm heart and gentle loving hands.  She was always giving yet had very little and had a special place in her heart and much compassion for animals which she showed with rescuing her final pet, a wild little kitten and fed it with an eye dropper for days and named her “Snoopy”.

This is who mom was and we were blessed to call you “Mom”.  She will be dearly missed, never forgotten and forever loved “to the moon and back”.  Rest peacefully now and enjoy your new home until we meet again, and you can “Show Me Around”.  (Carly Pearce song)

We would like to thank the nurses at Lorne Memorial Hospital in Swan Lake, MB for their superior care and personal attention with Mom in her final journey with us. Also, a special thank you with much appreciation and deep gratitude for her niece Yvette Lennon and her sister Mickey for their love and assistance with caring for mom in her final days.

In lieu of flowers /in Memory of, should you wish, a donation can be made to a volunteer not-for-profit Animal Care Fundraising  group (whom mom bought perogies from) for emergency care for neglected and abused animals called “The Doughnators” via an EFT to snoga@hotmail.ca

Cremation has occurred and due to Covid restrictions, at a later date (the summer), a private burial service will take place in Ste Rose du Lac, Manitoba.
