Heinrich (Henry) Sawatzky
Heinrich (Henry) Sawatzky of St. Andrews, MB passed away on November 9, 2020 at the age of 80. He was born in Stuartburn, MB and lived in both Paraguay and Winnipeg before establishing a special place for his family in St. Andrews.
Left to cherish his memory are daughters Sharon (Randy), Kathy (Jordan), grandchildren Matthew (Kayla), Alexa and little Henry. He was a father, a brother, and an uncle; pre-deceased by parents Heinrich and Justina.
He loved and took great pride in his work. Throughout his life he demonstrated a strong work ethic to his family. His many, many projects over nearly six decades will remain a legacy to his family and a gift to strangers throughout the city and surrounding area. At 76 Henry retired from Parkwest Projects Ltd.
On Sundays Henry enjoyed the park with his family, a bucket of chicken, attending festivals, listening to music, watching sports, and especially faspa. Later in life Henry really enjoyed joking around with his son(s)-in-law, girls, and grandkids.
We are truly heart-broken we won’t be looking into those bright blue smiling eyes for some time but will take solace that the sky will only be brighter because of him.
A special thank you to Area 4 staff at the geriatric program, Selkirk Mental Health Centre for their compassion and kindness to Dad and the incredible support they provided to us. A celebration of life will be held in 2021, a private family service took place on November 12th.
Condolences may be left on Henry Sawatzky’s page at www.Interlakecremation.ca
Arrangements entrusted to Interlake Cremation & Memorial Services.
