It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished husband, and Afi at the Selkirk Regional Health Center on September 16, 2019.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Bonnie; children Damian, Jeff (Angie) and daughter Jackie. Also the light of his life has grandsons, Hunter and Fredric; his two brothers, Billy and Peter (Louella); sisters-in-law, Thelma, Donna and Dorothy and his brother-in-law Brian; plus numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, five brothers and four sisters, and numerous in-laws, nephews and nieces.

Jon lived on Hecla for the first 47 years of his life, farming and working for Parks Canada before moving to Lockport in 1981. He had a strong work ethic which he passed on to his children. He worked until a couple of years ago, cleaning after he retired from Parks Canada.

Jon did not stray far from home. His family was his life.

We would like to thank the doctors and nursing staff at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre for their care of Jon during his stay there.

At Jon’s request there will be no formal service. Private interment at Hecla Cemetery will take place at a later date.
