It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Manuel Sousa on February 15, 2026, at the age of 74. Manuel was a kind, gentle, and genuine man whose warmth and easy smile left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his generous spirit, his quiet strength, and the love he gave so freely to his family and friends.

Manuel leaves behind his devoted wife, Nancy; his beloved daughter, Christina (Rob); foster daughter Leanne Kasian and his cherished grandchildren, Malory, Madysen, and Marcel, who brought immense joy and pride to his life. He is also survived by his loving sisters, Maria, Ilda, and Connie, and his brother, Danny.

He was predeceased by his dear son, Marcel, and by his parents, Maria and Manuel, who he held close in his heart throughout his life.

Family was everything to Manuel. He found his greatest happiness in time spent together — sharing stories, laughter, and simple moments that became treasured memories. His legacy of love, kindness, and dedication to those he cared about will continue to live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, March 5th at 12:00 p.m. at Earl Grey Community Centre, 360 Cockburn Street. All who knew and loved Manuel are welcome to attend and honor his memory.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

With heavy hearts we announce that Fredric Sousa Da Silva aged, 45 years passed away on June 9, 2022.

Fredric was born on Dec.6, 1976 in Montreal, QC where he lived until the age of 20. He then started a new journey to Churchill, MB where he worked and ran the Family business “Gypsys Bakery”. In 2017 he embarked on the next chapter and moved to Winnipeg where he continued to meet and create great and strong friendships.

We all knew Fredric suffered with his addiction as he was very open and honest about it. However, that’s not who he was, he was so much more and was on a better path and doing great things for himself. His months at the “Bruce Oake Recovery Center” helped him tremendously and got him to connect with some fantastic people and created an amazing brotherhood.

Fredric’s bigger than life personality is who he was and everything he stood for. He loved his family, he was so happy when he was able to get his dad out of the house for a boy’s lunch or a boy’s road trip to Dauphin. He absolutely loved his mom and taking her out for lunches and shopping or a simple drive.

He loved being active whether it was going to the gym, or throwing a football around outside with his brother and son and nephew.

We have all been extremely blessed to have met Fredric and getting to know his bubbly personality which will be missed by many.

Fredric is survived by his son Joshua, his parents Antonio & Helen, his sister Jessica, nephew Zachary and his brother Philip.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, June 20, 2022 at 6:30 pm at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 4588 Roblin Blvd., Winnipeg, MB.

Viewing will take place one half hour prior to the Service.

Flowers gratefully declined. As tokens of sympathy, donations in memory of Fredric may be made to the Bruce Oake Memorial Foundation, 1-883 Notre Dame Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0M4.
