Born in Fort Frances Ontario to Colleen Wells (Mallory) and Wilfred (Bob) Wells, Robert spent his entire life in Winnipeg.
He was a dedicated carrier for the Winnipeg Free Press and an avid consumer of all things techie. After teaching himself how to use a computer Robert moved on to an IPod, IPhone and IPad seldom being without at least one.
Robert loved family and stayed connected to them thru daily calls and texts. Everyone on his list could be assured of knowing they would hear from him regularly. He had many friends but of note is his exceptional long-time friendship with Heather Hooper. They met at a young age and maintained their friendship through almost daily phone calls or FaceTime connections.
After suffering a stroke in September of 2024 Robert subsequently resided at Selkirk Mental Health Centre in the Acquired Brain Injury program where he received excellent support and enjoyed the attention of the staff. Cremation has occurred and Robert will be placed in the family plot in Ontario with his parents.
There will be a memorial service to be announced at a later date

Janice was born in Russell, on September 17, 1957 to Louis and Elsie Falkevitch. She attended Londonderry School for elementary and completed her schooling at Major Pratt School in Russell. Mom passed away in 1979 and Janice moved to Winnipeg to live and work.
Janice worked at various jobs throughout her years in Winnipeg, some of her favourite were Manitoba Hydro and St. Boniface Hospital. Janice was a friendly, outgoing, cheerful person and made many friends throughout her years in Winnipeg but she always longed to move back home to Russell.
Janice’s wish came true in 2014 when she was finally able to call Russell home again and she joined the Parkland Linc family. The years she spent with her friends at Linc were among the best times of her life. She loved bowling, bingo, grocery shopping, going for coffee and visiting with everyone in the community. Janice loved her family and friends and she was so excited to run into them in town or at an event. Janice was a fun loving, easy going person who will be forever remembered.
She was predeceased by her parents Louis and Elsie (Zimmer) Falkevitch and her brothers; Randy Falkevitch and Ron Falkevitch and niece Elysha Chernesky.
She leaves to mourn her sister Joan (John) Chernesky, brother Bruce (Carla) Falkevitch, children Brandy Falkevitch, Kolton Falkevitch, and Tessa Sanheim (Taylor) and children Acre and Tate, nephew Christopher Falkevitch, sons Jude and Brier, niece Christina Olson (Dylan), children Briella and Remi, niece Naokah Roth (Leonard), children Tatum and Tyson, also her beloved Aunty Annie and many close cousins.
The family would like to express a huge thank you to all the dedicated workers who have provided Janice with kind and gentle care over the years. A sincere thank you to Dr. Pietres and the staff at the Russell Personal Care Home for the comfort care she received during her stay. Janice always looked happy and content with nail polish or a bow in her hair when we went to visit her. Finally, an extra special thanks to Parkland Linc staff and friends at Linc for being such an important part of her life.

This will not be an obituary; this will be a roast. Anyone knowing Dad would appreciate the humour as we best describe this unique “one of a kind” individual.
Dad was the Archie Bunker of Petersfield. He was your typical farmer. Loved money!!! His favourite quote was “rub 2 nickels together until the beaver farts!” Words to describe him are: loud, opinionated, obnoxious, witty, funny and a real nice guy when he was sleeping! His friends at the coffee shop can take out their ear plugs now!
Dad was a mechanic and started his career on the Diefenbaker Dam in Saskatchewan. There he met mom in Dunblane and married in 1963. They moved back to Manitoba and settled in Petersfield to raise their 4 kids.
He was predeceased by his mom and dad, Glen and Dorothy, sister Ellen Brennan and brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Alice and son Kevin.
Dad leaves behind children Dennis (Marilyn), Rhonda (Darcy) and Colleen (Mike), grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Special friend Gloria and family and ex-wife and friend Joan. Also, brother Wayne Palmer’s family, brother-in-law Jim Brennan and family.
The last 3 ½ years dad battled with Multiple Myeloma and fought the good fight right to the end. Even though dad couldn’t say words of affection, you knew he really did love his family. He was so proud of all of his grandchildren.
A private family gathering will be held at a later date.

It is with great sadness that the family of Albert Raymond Bazinet announce his passing on October 2, 2025, at the age of 61.
Albert will be lovingly missed by his wife of 37 years, Shirley Swan, and their children: Dale Swan, Gene (Janice) Swan, and Rachelle (Paul) Stephenson. He will also be deeply missed by their beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren, his mother Helen Bazinet, and his siblings: Douglas (Grace) Bazinet, Diane Stevenson (Terry Lee), Garry (Tara) Bazinet, Denise Bazinet (Taras Konyk), Raymond Bazinet, and Suzanne (Alex) Kluke, along with many nieces and nephews. Albert was predeceased by his father, Victor Bazinet.
Albert was born and raised in Eriksdale, Manitoba, where he lived and worked on the family farm alongside his parents and siblings. Growing up in a close-knit rural community shaped his lifelong values of hard work, kindness, and friendship.
Albert met Shirley in the spring of 1988, and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. They especially cherished camping, spending countless weekends exploring the outdoors and sharing quiet moments by the fire.
Albert was known for his friendly nature and love of conversation. He enjoyed talking with people wherever he went—whether he knew them or not—and could always find common ground and good humour in every exchange.
He had many interests, including farming, camping, and fishing, but his greatest passion was curling. From a young age, Albert was drawn to the sport, becoming a devoted competitor in bonspiels and league nights alike. Whether he was on the ice or watching from the sidelines, he was never shy about sharing his thoughts on the game, often offering friendly coaching and encouragement to players on both teams.
Albert made a lasting impact on junior curling in Manitoba. His experience and love for the sport were evident in his coaching and in the many relationships he built within his broad curling family. He cared deeply for all curlers, offering guidance, advice, and support to anyone who shared his enthusiasm for the game.
Outside the rink, Albert was a dedicated and hardworking member of Manitoba’s agricultural community. Over the years, he worked on numerous dairy farms and with both Alta Genetics and the Dairy Herd Improvement Association. His career took him travelling across the province, where he became well recognised and highly respected within Manitoba’s dairy and beef industries.
Albert and Shirley were deeply grateful to the many friends and family members who offered their support in countless ways, whether through rides to appointments, acts of kindness, or simply spending time with them. Their generosity and companionship meant the world to them. The family would also like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Cancer Centre team at the Victoria Hospital for their exceptional care, compassion, and support throughout Albert’s journey.
A Celebration of Life in honour of Albert will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. at Heather Curling Club, 120 Rue Youville, Winnipeg, Manitoba.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Albert’s name can be made to the Manitoba Junior Curling Tour (MJCT) in support of the young athletes and community he cared so deeply about. Donations may be made by e-transfer to: samantha.gevers@gmail.com (please include “Albert Bazinet Donation” in the subject line), or by cheque made payable to Manitoba Junior Curling Tour and mailed to c/o Pierre Alan, 27 Jupiter Bay, Winnipeg, MB., R3T 0W5.
We encourage friends and family to share a memory of Albert below, so that his warmth, humour, and spirit can continue to bring smiles to all who knew him.
