It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Lori at the Riverview Health Care Centre on June 16, 2023 with family by her side, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Lori will be lovingly remembered by her husband Ismael, children; BJ (Lisa) Eric, Keith, Michelle, Savannah, Soraya, Camara, Lyra, Chevy and; grandson Mitchell. As well as her siblings, Diane (Wally), Sandra, David (Linda), Dale (Jim), Ken (Gail), Cheryl, Nancy (Manuel), Raymond (Ivy), Casey (Roberta), Sheila (John), Gary (Tracy); mother-in-law Cayetana; sisters -in-law, Anna (Bounsack), Betty, Judy; brother-in-law John (Fatima), numerous nieces and nephews.
Lori was predeceased by her parents, father-in-law Johan Peters, nephews Jeffery, Marcel Sousa, great nephew Christian.
Lori was born on September 29, 1959 to Albert and Gwen Jones in Winnipeg, Manitoba. She grew up in the Fort Rouge area with her sisters and brothers.
She met the love of her life Ismael in 1977 when they both worked at Dunn Rite. They have been lovingly married for 41 years.
Lori went on to work with Phillips-Temro Industries. She really enjoyed looking after her children and watching them grow. Lori loved her time driving her children to various activities and always being close to them.
She enjoyed travelling with family to Las Vegas, a special trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic with Anna and Bounsack. There were some special camping occasions. Lori really enjoyed her trips to Shooting Star with sisters and brothers-in-law. A little gambling and karaoke was always her pleasure.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on June 27, 2023, at Earl Grey Community Centre 360 Cockburn St. Winnipeg, MB.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to CancerCare Manitoba, nurses from WRHA Palliative Care, Riverview Health Centre for the care of Lori.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lori’s memory to CancerCare Manitoba.
