Mom was a fighter and won the battle with two cancers but after a courageous and lengthy illness with COPD, with family by her side, Mom passed peacefully on December 23, 2021.
Mom was born in Ste.Rose du Lac, Manitoba in 1939 and moved to Winnipeg to go to high school. She was predeceased by her mother Stella Pawloski, step father Roy Dabrowski, sisters Beverley Church and Jeanne Chapman, and in-laws Katie and Steve Kowerko.
Mom leaves to mourn her loss, her husband Tim Sr., daughter Susan, sons Tim Jr. (Tammy), Rick (Linda), and Jim, 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Also mourning her loss are her brother Richard (Joan) Pawloski, Brothers-in-law Allan Chapman, Steve (Joan) and Clarence Kowerko, Sister-in-law Doreen (George) Harrison and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mom and Dad met when they were set up on a blind date. After four years of dating Dad asked Mom to marry him. Mom and Dad always joked that it was the longest day of their lives as they were married on June 21, 1958. They loved each other dearly to the end.
Moms’ greatest joys were the times she spent with her family. Nothing gave her more joy than the hugs and love from her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed the summers at the cottage at Bird Lake picking mushrooms and blueberries. Mom supported and enjoyed watching her children excel in sports and encouraged them to participate. She even coached one of the girls’ softball teams. Mom loved to cook and try new recipes. Everyone loved to taste and sample her new creations that she lovingly made in her kitchen. In her younger years she was an avid curler at West St. Paul Curling Club with the Ladies Auxiliary team and participated in many bonspiels. Just before Moms’ retirement, she worked with The Family Centre providing respite for families in need. She loved looking after the children by providing care and comfort for them.
In accordance with Mom’s wishes she was cremated. A private family service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Manitoba Lung Association or the Canadian Cancer Society in her memory.
