January 18, 1932 – January 10, 2026

Cecilia Hass passed away January 10 2026. She was loved and will be greatly missed by her son Fred (Judi) and daughters Carol (Pete), Terry (Orville), daughter-in-law Joanne and grandchildren Nick (Nina), Ian (Melanie), Lexie and Neil (Reanna) and great-grandchildren Everett and Adeline. She leaves behind family in Kingston, Ontario and Nova Scotia. She was predeceased by her husband Alexander and son Brian.

Widowed at a young age, our mom worked full time as a Registered Nurse on the I.V. team at

HSC while raising four children on her own. She put us before herself every single time. She never ever complained, just soldiered on every day. While she did not have much family in Winnipeg, the Vielhaber family became our cousins and the neighbours became family helping one another.

She volunteered to be the President of the Red River Community Centre in its very early days and delivered Meals on Wheels with Judi. Mom was an active member of the Seven Oaks Wellness Institute attending six days a week until age 89.

She enjoyed her time spent at her trailer at Camp Neustadt playing cards and golfing with her friends. She spent her winter holidays in Florida golfing and enjoying life with her sister Terry and husband Peter.

She really enjoyed her 3.5 years living at River Ridge Retirement Residence where she received great care from the staff and WRHA Home Care. She especially enjoyed the balcony view of the parking lot, watching all the action. She spent her last ten months at Actionmarguerite (St-Joseph) Personal Care Home. We wish to thank the entire staff for the exceptional care she received.

A private family funeral has been held in her honour.

Mom was an amazing woman and we were blessed to have her in our lives.

Daniel Vincent Robak

With heavy hearts, the family announces the passing of Daniel Vincent Robak, who passed away suddenly due to complications from an infection related to the flu.

Danny was born on June 23, 1972, in Winnipeg Manitoba, to Martin Robak and Jacci Kakaygeesick.

He was predeceased by his brother, Martin Paul Robak Jr., and his son, Dylan Kirton.

Danny will be lovingly remembered by his partner, Norma Sawatsky; his sons, Tristan Kirton and Jory Kirton; Tanis Kirton, mother of Danny’s sons, his father, Martin Robak, of Riverton, Manitoba; his mother, Jacci Kakaygeesick, of Winnipeg, Manitoba; his sister, Kimberly Robak Radke; step-sister Pheonixx, his nieces and nephews, Macayla, Shellie Marie, Keira, Kingston, Maddison, Ajza, and Keoni; Jennifer Marion as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Danny will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew him. Danny had the rare gift of being able to make a friend in seconds. His smile, warmth, and natural charisma drew people in wherever he went. He had an easy way with people and left lasting impressions on everyone he met. Danny was incredibly talented—he could dance, sing, and entertain with ease, and his family often teased that he should have been an actor. When he was younger, he was also lovingly teased for his resemblance to Billy Ray Cyrus.

Danny worked for many years at DGI Farm, where he was especially fond of the animals he cared for. He formed bonds with many of them, even giving names to the animals he worked with. He was also a baseball player, loved fishing, spending time outdoors doing what he enjoyed most and loved music, drawing and digital art.

Danny will be remembered for his laughter, his big heart, and his ability to make people feel welcome and valued. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

A viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m., followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 13, 2026, at Selkirk United Church, 202 McLean Avenue, Selkirk, Manitoba. A lunch will follow the service.

Family and friends are invited to share memories, stories, or a favorite “Danny” moment during the service as we gather to celebrate his life.

Cremation has taken place and a private interment will be held at a later date.

Joyce Chambers

Joyce Marguerite (Holiday) Chambers, was an amazing person to many people in all her ways! As a Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, Cousin and friend she left all of our sides peacefully on January 16, 2016 at 87 with Wayne by her side at home, a place she truly loved to be. Joyce will always be in our hearts, on our minds and loved by all of us forever. She enjoyed her life with a bright beaming smile on her face surrounded by those that were close to her.

Joyce was predeceased by Joe (Joseph) Chambers her husband, and Jackie (Jacquelyne) Chambers her daughter as well as other family members and close friends. She is survived by her son Wayne, all of her Grandchildren – Kelly (Ashley), Steven (Hannah), Ashley (Sean), Nickolas (Karlee) and her Great Grandchildren – Emma and Brooks, Chloe and Cassie, Ivy and twins Ellie and Dean. Brothers – Kenny (Donna), Terry and their children. Millie, her daughters, Cathy (Murray), Sharon (Rob), Angela and their children. Janie (Dave), Michael (Debi), Pat (Leonard), Lynn and their children, as well as all additional family members. Friends – Anna, Mona, Olie, Pat, Bev, and her many other numerous friends

Joyce grew up in MacGregor, MB. On her parent’s farm she was surrounded by her brothers and sisters, as well as all her country raised friends. As Joyce grew up she worked a few jobs in Portage La Prairie before moving to Winnipeg in 1956 and living with Millie (Alderson) and Betty (Mason). That was prior to her marriage in 1957 to Joe Chambers who she met in MacGregor while he was coming there with his best friend Chuck (Charlie) Mason. Joyce started her family with Joe raising Wayne and Jackie in the North End of Winnipeg. Joyce had a few opportunity changes prior to her career at Western Grain Stabilization Canada. A career she loved and with it she made some really good friends.   

Joyce (Holiday) Chambers lived life loving, having fun with a bright smile beaming on her face always enjoying her family, friends and everyone she had the pleasure of knowing.

She is remembered and missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her!

Hendrik Eppo Bylholt

Hendrik “Hank” Bylholt was born in The Netherlands and immigrated to Canada with his parents as a child. He grew up a proud St. James boy in Winnipeg, Manitoba, carrying those roots with him throughout his life.

Hank was married to the love of his life, Penny Bylholt, for 56 years. Together they built a life grounded in family, friendship, and community. He was a devoted father to his daughter, Cindy (Cynthia) Neil, and a proud father-in-law to Ken Neil. Nothing brought Hank more joy than his grandchildren, Mackenzie (Mackie) Neil and Kaiden Neil, who were the absolute light of his life.

Hank was predeceased by his parents, Hill and Liz Bylholt, and his brother, Eppo Bylholt.

He will be deeply missed by many, including his cousin and best friend, Bert, and Bert’s wife, Henriette, whose friendship meant so much to him throughout his life.

Hank was loved by many and known for his warmth, generosity, and unmistakable sense of cool. He carried himself with an easy swagger and a quiet confidence that made people lean in. He loved spinning a tale, delivering stories in a subtle way that left you smiling, never quite sure what was true and what was embellished—and that was part of the joy. A small grin and a lil’ chuckle often gave him away.

Hank spent some of the best years of his life in Ile des Chenes, where he was an active and engaged community member. He believed deeply in showing up for others, sharing stories, and enjoying good company—often over food and a drink.

A come-and-go celebration of life will be held on Sunday, February 15, 2026 at the TC Energy Centre in Ile des Chenes (1 Rivard St., Ile des Chenes, MB), from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Please come by, have a drink, enjoy lunch (on Hank), and share a memory. If you leave smiling—or slightly unsure about one of the stories—Hank would be laughing.

Edwin Wallace Arthur

We are sad to announce the passing of our friend and “Uncle Edd”, peacefully at his home in Winnipeg on January 22, 2026 at the age of 79.

Edd was born in Vita and grew up in Dominion City. Edd was one of seven siblings. He was predeceased by his parents Herb and Rose, sisters Noel and Jessie and brother James. Edd is survived by sisters Trudy and Pat and brother Bruce.

Later Edd met the Chmielnicki family who became his second family which included Ed and Hazel, Bev, Brenda, Sharon, Michael, Amanda, Jayde, Caden and Brooklyn. Uncle Edd was especially close to Jeffrey and Cody.

Edd moved to Winnipeg at an early age, he worked various jobs, retiring from the Provincial Government as a Surveyor. He enjoyed many bubblies at the Westminster Hotel with his group of friends. Edd enjoyed yearly trips riding his motorcycle to Sturgis, N.D. He spent most weekends at Husavik and later at Clandeboye. Edd was an avid local sports fan who often voiced his strong opinion at the TV.

Special thanks to the homecare workers, and his friend Dan who made it possible for him to stay at home until his passing. Also to Cody for his weekly entertainment, not quite sure who entertained who HA HA.

Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held early summer in Clandeboye. Burial will follow in Dominion City at a later date.
