Franklin Louis Fekete

June 23, 1965 – August 4, 2023

It is with great sadness the family of Franklin Louis Fekete, announce his peaceful passing, at home with his family by his side.

Frankie leaves to mourn his wife Shannon, son Cody, his brother Joey (Tammy and children), his mother-in-law, Peggy, sister-in-law, Debbie (Ray), brother-in-law, Bobby, his nieces, Karrissa and Brandy, nephews, Tyson and Keenan, his great-nephews, Jaxyn, Leo and Karter and his namesake great-niece, Avagail Frankie.  He also leaves many wonderful friends.

He was pre-deceased by his mother and father, Pat and Frank Fekete, two uncles John (Nellie) and Hendy (Maria) Lee and 2 aunts, Mary (Stan) Wood and Rose (Fred) Appelt , and father-in-law, Laurie Clarke.

Frankie was born in Selkirk, Manitoba, where he remained his entire 58 years.  He loved music and he went everywhere with his ‘tunes’ , especially his favourite muscian Bob Seger.  He loved aviation and building models from a young age and throughout his entire life. His most successful model, the Titanic was displayed at the Manitoba Museum of Man and Nature as part of the Titanic Exibition.  They even made souveniers (fridge magnets and keychains) to sell in the gift shop from his Titanic.

He loved collecting coins, his favourite team merchandise and of course, his favourite Godzilla and had every movie ever made. He enjoyed working on puzzles and diamond art, especially these last years, as he liked to keep busy.  He loved to garden and take care of his fruit trees.  He was also a die hard CFL and NHL fan and as we all know, his favourite teams were The Boston Bruins and Edmonton Elks. He loved bicycling and would bike to work through the whole year, even the winter.

Frankie took pride in caring for everything he had, from his vehicles, to his home, yard and valued a good friendship and as many of his friends have said, he was a good friend.

Frankie was a union steelworker, working in a few steel plants in his career and took pride in his work ethic, never missing a day if he could help it.

No words could ever express how saddened we are, but we are sure, he is no longer in pain and watching over us.  We loved him tremendously and our memories will last forever.

Frankie planned a party on July 22, 2023, so he could enjoy the company of friends and family.  As per Frankie’s wishes, no formal service will be held.  Cremation has taken place and a private burial will be held at a later date.
