Margaret Ellen Magnusson (Updated)

February 20, 1939 – November 1, 2025

With family by her side, mom passed away at the Selkirk General Hospital on November 1, 2025 at the age of 86 years.

Predeceased by her husband Patrick Lorne Magnusson, her parents Bert & Kit Setter, her in-laws Johann & Lillian, daughter Corrie Nadine, as well as her sister Myrna, brothers Ken, Fred and Alvin, brother-in-law’s Gerald and Joey, sister-in-law’s Marion, Dilly, Joan, Claire, Valerie-Ann, Cynthia and Kak, nephews Kerry and Garth and great great grandson Baby Elias.

She is survived by her brother Harvey, sister-in-law Candace, children Warren (Pam), Cheryl (Keith), Colleen, Pam (Paul) and Deb Cancade. Also survived by 27 grandchildren, Melainee (Trevor), Ryan (Karissa), David (Elena), Aaron (Jeanine), Aimee (Terry), Gordie, Shane (Sameria), Christopher (Zoey), Cameron (Michelle), Avery (Natascha), Meagan (Josh), Jasmine, Brooke, Benjamin (Allie) and Reilly (Shayna), 27 great grandchildren Darian, Corbin, Atreese, Brody, Amber, Elizabeth, Curtelle, Elizabeth Q, Chase, Whitley, Alexis, Cashton, Aiden, Mason, Landon, Elijah, Anthony, William, Madison, Aalieyah, Cezar, Kelsey, Alicia, Dayson, Chaden, Rae-lynn, Sophia,  7 great great grandchildren Kamryn, Princeton, Alexander, Arlena, Elita, Emersyn, Micah, as well as many nieces, nephews and other family members too numerous to mention.

In mom’s early years, she worked at Eaton’s and then with dad at Gondola Pizza, Nite Owl, and Lorne’s Place Restaurant.

Mom and her friend Zarvie started up the soup kitchen and mom had a room for donations, which she was there 6 days a week, accepting donations and helping anyone who needed help with clothing, kitchen items, beds, dressers and whatever she could get for them.

A gathering to celebrate Margaret’s life will be held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 10:00 a.m.  – 1:00 p.m. at the Selkirk Friendship Centre where stories and a meal can be shared.

Janice Ellen Lavallee

September 8, 1947 – April 24, 2022

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, Janice Lavallee.

She was predeceased by her father Peter Shipp, mother Mary Shipp, brother Rodney Shipp and sister Connie.

Janice is survived by her husband George, sons; Rick and Jeffrey, daughter Renee and sister Dianne; grandchildren, great grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Winnipeg during the summer.

Stephanie Ellen Bancroft

Suddenly and unexpectedly on January 22, 2022, Stephanie passed away at the age of 34 years.

She leaves to mourn, her loving husband Marcello and her beloved children, Logan, D.J., Asia and Brenden.  She will also be greatly missed by her mother Penny.

Cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held.
