Mom passed away peacefully June 9, 2022 shortly after celebrating her 98^th birthday on May 12^th.  She kept in touch via Zoom calls, telephone calls and had as many in-person visits with her friends and family as possible to offset the pandemic.  Family and friends were the centre of her life, in all things her joy and sincerity were evident.

Mom was born in 1924 at Beresford just north of Souris, Manitoba to Jean and George Davison and grew up with her four brothers Jack, William (Bill), Geordie and Gerald (Deb). She attended the one room School #447 just west of her home and then taught there for two years after completing her Grade 12 . She moved on to work for Wawanesa Mutual in Souris and then in Summerville, Manitoba. She met James Arthur Tully (Art) (predeceased 1998) through her brother Jack and enjoyed two years of dancing, movies and spending time at the Davison farmstead.  They were married on December 27, 1948. They bought a farm at Elgin, Manitoba and spent three years working at establishing the farm and working in Winnipeg in the winters to pay the bills. In 1953 they purchased property in Winnipeg and built their home at 138 Oakdean Boulevard where Lois resided until recently.

Mom and Dad raised 5 children: Linda Jane (Geoffrey Kerr), Denis James, (Rita Mc Innis) Douglas Grant (Sally Gyles), Margaret Anne (Larry Demco) and Scott Kimball (Dolores Sawatzky, former spouse Lori Hall).  Lois has many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren and extended family members.

Through the kid’s formative years, there were many weekend trips to visit Mom’s brothers who farmed across western Manitoba. There was also a passion to camp out at Sioux Narrows to allow her to be closer to nature. Mom was very outgoing and was involved with ‘Engineer’s Wives’ group in the 50’s and became closely involved with the church through Junior Achievement for teenage girls.  St Andrew’s was a integral part of her daily life.  She also taught swimming at the YMCA and had many talents as an artist creating paintings, baskets, quilting, sewing, knitting and crochet and was active in the Manitoba Crafts Guild. Mom’s true passion was to teach and she spent a great deal of time with young women teaching all of these crafts.

Service of Memorial will be 1:00 pm Saturday June 18 at St Andrew’s Anglican Church (Woodhaven) officiated by The Reverend Liz Richens.  Interment has taken place at Glenwood Cemetery, Souris MB, service officiated by The Reverend Ian Mills.

In Lois’ memory, in lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Missionaries of Charity (Mother Teresa), 167 Aikens Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R2W-0A1.  Please take the time to plant a geranium for Lois.  The family wishes to acknowledge a deep appreciation for the staff at the Charleswood Personal Care home for their loving care of Lois.
