Paul Starr Allaman

Paul Starr Allaman was born on December 25th 1967 in Brandon Manitoba to his mother Judith Somerville-Jones and his father Peter Matwick. Paul had lived for 54 years married to his wife Ivy Allaman for 34 years and father to two children Jesse(wife Jessica) and Nicholas. He was a beloved grandfather or ‘Papa’ to his three grandchildren Peyton(Sweet pea), Hailey(Squiggles), and Liam(Blippi). Paul also has many siblings, Gord(Jody), twin sisters Colette(Larry) and Colleen(Miles), Tara, Marcus, Brent, Maxine, Mark(Angela).

Paul was a hard working man dedicated to whatever job he had, dropping out of high school to focus on working to then build and support his family after which he obtained his GED to better himself. Paul worked the majority of his years for ICE until their closure and involved in their union (Unifor) moving up over the years until he became the president of local 3003. Paul was dedicated to his union, often spending much of his free time on his computer or on the phone assisting his brothers and sisters of the union and obtaining job security for himself, all for the sake of his family. Paul was also the member of many different groups including being on the health and safety committee, united way committee, being on the board of the North End Renewal Corporation, and many other positions throughout the years. At the time of Paul’s passing he worked for Future Transfer.

Paul was a very stoic and humble man, often keeping to himself and never asking for anything from anyone. Paul was quiet, well reserved, and deeply cared for his family. However, that doesn’t mean he didn’t have the spirit of a jokester inside of him often times making a smart comment here and there, the stereotypical ‘dad joke’, the time he mooned a wedding party while cruising along in a boat, the time he slid down a hotel railing and slammed his ass through the wall, the many times he’d release a rumbling fart and chuckle retorting “that was a good one!” or many more examples that there are just far too many to count.

Paul suffered a heart attack on May 22nd 2022 and later passed in Saint Boniface Hospital in the early morning hours of May 24th 2022 while surrounded by his wife and two sons. He was far too young, and gone too soon, he will be sorely missed.
