Lilias Jane Scarrott

1938 – 2022

After a lengthy illness mom peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior, to be reunited with her loving husband of 31 years, Melvin (2000), her children Douglas (1985), Gerry (2022), Brenda (2016) and granddaughter Tansea (2018).

Lilias is survived by her 2 daughters Christine (Chrissy) Anne Phillips and Elizabeth (Lisa) Jane Hanchakove, 11 Grandchildren and 10 Great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends and acquaintances.

Mom was a very talented, compassionate and caring woman who always put family first and foremost. She was also known to be first person to help anyone who needed help for anything.  Babies were her special love and she absolutely loved volunteering at the Unwed Teenage School and her local church. She had a fondness for the arts like English Literature, Ballet, Theater and musicals.  One of my best memories of mom was her singing musical songs as she was doing her housework when I was a child.  She also loved trying out new recipes for her family to try out, her stuffed onions were to die for.  Every time you saw her she’d be carrying around a couple of different craft projects and a book.  She loved to knit, so much that she learned how to spin her own wool and dye it different colors using whatever nature provided her with.  Mom did many kinds of arts and crafts and loved teaching whoever showed an interest in it. She loved it so much that she joined a group of fellow crafters who all joined in creating a project and mailed it to one another, including her daughter Chrissy.  Some projects were completed by a minimum of 2-4 crafters.

Mom will be sadly missed by all who had the pleasure of being in her life.  Her heart and kindness touched many people.  Rest in Peace mom.

Cremation has taken place.
