On Monday July 19th 2021, at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre, Marilyn Kehler of Poplarfield, MB passed away at the age of 74 years.
Born April 19th 1947, Marilyn had a passion for animals and helping others. Her love of all animals small to large was never questionable. Marilyn collected all sorts through out her life, from cats and dogs to horses and goats. For many years, Marilyn enjoyed showing her dogs, participating in fly ball and breeding Jack Russell Terriers. She worked as the registrar for the JRTCC for several years.
Marilyn thoroughly enjoyed her hobby farm. She loved/disliked being woken up early morning by cranes and or coyotes (which happened often). She loved getting up to see deer in the yard. She kept the humming birds well fed in the summer months and loved having all the fluffy fat birds well fed in the winter months. She loved having trail cameras out on her property to capture pictures of elk, deer of all sizes and some times even bears.
Marilyn loved the outdoors! She was always out and about. You would find her in her younger years camping, fishing and hunting. She shared her love of the the outdoors with Jim, Leah and even nieces, nephews, family and friends. Often found hiking on her property years ago; however, the last few years she loved to spent time fishing at the pier (Hnausa).
Marilyn was an avid reader! She was often found with a book in hand. Her passion for reading was often discovered by others through little tidbits of information she collected through out her life. She visited the library biweekly to collect a new batch of books.
She was predeceased by brother Grant; her parents Grahame and Jean Sinclair. She leaves behind her husband Jim and daughter Leah (Steve) Johnson and two grandchildren, Jarrett and Madison. Siblings Milt (Barb) Sinclair, Rob (Noreen) Sinclair, Ian (Stacey) Sinclair and Karen Sinclair; numerous nieces and nephews.
In response to Marilyn’s wishes there will be no ceremony. If family and friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to cancer research.
The family wish to express their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Selkirk Regional Health Centre for their excellent and compassionate care.
