With great sadness we announce the passing of our sweet, kind and gentle Shirley on April 14, 2020 at the age of 64.
Shirley leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband Dwight, step-daughter Kim and step-granddaughter Trinity. She also leaves behind her sisters, with whom she shared a special bond; Rosemary Schellenberg, Marlene Pope (Darrell), and Bonnie Schellenberg (Rick Kotaska). She will also be affectionately remembered by her nephews, whom she loved dearly; Carey, Davis, Tyler (Samantha), Ryan, Devan and her step niece Alysha. Shirley also leaves behind the Murchison family, as well as extended family and many close friends. Shirley always held her family close to her heart.
She was predeceased by her Mother and Father, Alice and Martin.
Shirley was employed by United Grain Growers the majority of her working life.
Shirley was at her happiest spending time with Dwight, family, friends and at their Falcon Lake cottage; although she may have been at her best while on a good shopping spree….her sisters and friends can attest to that! She also enjoyed gardening, dancing and her many travels with Dwight and family. Shirley possessed so many extraordinary qualities. She was kind, generous, caring, soft spoken and loved a good laugh.
The family would like to thank the Palliative Care team – your care and compassion is remarkable. We would also like to thank family and friends who supported Shirley through her cancer journey – you gave her strength, encouragement and help beyond words.
At Shirley’s request, cremation has taken place and a private gathering will be held at a later date.
Care entrusted to Interlake Cremation & Memorial Services
