Larry Bruce Livingstone

Peacefully, on April 11, 2018, surrounded by his loving family and his devoted wife, Larry’s journey in life ended.

He is survived by his wife Maria, dog Corky, daughters, Angela (Eric) Swanson and Michelle Anderson and grandchildren, Carter, Jillian, Ellie and Amy. He also leaves to mourn, his siblings, Della (Jim) Fluker, Curtis (Jennifer McKelvey) Livingstone, Teresa (Glen) Soper, and Murray (Tricia) Livingstone as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.

Larry was predeceased by his parents, Dennis and Dorothy Livingstone, infant son Paul and sister Corinne.

Larry was born in Cartwright Manitoba on April 11, 1954 where he grew up on “the farm”. After high school, he moved to Winnipeg and began working at Standard Aero Limited. This job was his entire career and was an active employee there for 34 years before leaving due to health reasons. He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humour and easy going nature. There was always a bright side to a problem and as he would say, “things could always be worse”.

Larry enjoyed travelling and camping, taking his family on many road trips throughout the years. Cruises to the Caribbean and Alaska along with a trip to Europe were highlights filled with unique experiences and sights. Larry also enjoyed playing games, watching sports, and laughing with friends and family. A gathering would often include cards or crokinole (or both), good food and drinks. He was a modest crokinole champion and took pleasure in seeing his grandkids try the game.

In keeping with his wishes, Dad will be cremated and will be connected with the earth in the form of a tree. A memorial service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church in Selkirk Manitoba on Saturday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Movement Disorder Clinic at Deer Lodge Centre in Winnipeg.

A Successful Man

That man is a success – who has lived well, laughed often and loved much; who has gained the respect of intelligent men and the love of children; who has filled his niche and accomplished his task; who leaves the world better than he found it; who has never lacked appreciation of earth’s beauty or failed to express it; who looked for the best in others and gave the best he had.
